Men's and under 13s

Sunday morning handed me my first men's fixture. On paper this was going to be a tough match, but the visitors were a player light a the home side made this advantage count.

The final score... 16-2.

Overall, an easy match to officiate but I had to race to another fixture straight after. This being a end of season clash for two under 13 sides.

In a well fought battle, the visitors won 6-3 and wrapped up the season on a high.

Thrashing and a tight game

I've missed out on blogging for two weeks so I'll keep it short.

Two weeks ago I was officiating a under 13s C league fixture with the second bottom team against the second placed promotion fighters. Tough weather conditions put the match in doubt but the pitch held up well and we were able to complete the match with the away team winning 15-0.

Last Sunday, I was in charge of an under 11s A league fixture. The away team scored two goals in four minutes to seal a 2-0 victory.

This weekend:
Crispin United vs Castle Rovers
Sunday Combination
&
Towcester Town vs Daventry

First vs Second

Last time I referees these two sides, the score was 4-3 in a cup clash. Once again, I was expecting a high scoring game.

After awarding a penalty to the visitors in the first minute, they took the lead. The home side had their chance on half time with their own penalty but put it wide.

The visitors went on to complete a rout in the second half and won the match 4-0 to extend their lead at the top of the league.

Back In Action

After several weeks of no fixtures due to snow, ice and rain, I found myself driving into Northampton for an under 12s C league game.

After talking to the home team's manager, I thought the away team would have no problem beating them, but, it turned out to be an excellent match.

The visitors won a penalty for a shove on the attacker but the resulting penalty was hit straight at the keeper. It wasn't long before they took the lead as they scored from a corner minutes later.

The away side went on to score a second and also allow the home team to grab a goal just before half time.

End to end football then produced further goals with the visitors eventually winning the fixture 5-3.

Players: Didn't give me any grief and no real issues. All played well and created a great spectacle! 8/10
Coaches: No problems whatsoever with coaches from both sides. Good spirited. 8/10
Spectators: Very few people watching the game and little enthusiasm. 5/10
Ground: In good condition but showed signs of wear and tear towards the end 7/10
